Patch: Ortho Evra

The patch is worn on the skin on the lower abdomen, buttocks, or upper body that releases the hormones progestin and estrogen into the bloodstream.

How does the diaphragm work?

The patch prevents the egg from leaving the ovary or prevents the sperm from reaching the egg. It also changes the uterus lining so that a fertilized egg may not implant.

The patch does not protect against std's.

What are the side effects?
